बरसाना में एक कस्बे की एक पहाड़ी पर बना है राधा रानी का महल

बरसाना के इस राधा रानी मंदिर का प्राचीन नाम वृषभानुपुर है जो करीब 343 साल पुराना है

बरसाना मथुरा जिले की गोवर्धन तहसील व नन्दगाँव ब्लाक में स्थित एक क़स्बा और नगर पंचायत है। कहा जाता है कि भगवान श्री कृष्ण की राधा बरसाना की ही रहने वाली थीं। क़स्बे के मध्य श्री राधा की जन्मस्थली माना जाने वाला  श्री राधावल्ल्भ मन्दिर स्थित है। राधा का जिक्र पद्म पुराण और ब्रह्मवैवर्त पुराण में भी मिलता है। पद्म पुराण के अनुसार राधा वृषभानु नामक गोप की पुत्री थीं। ब्रह्मवैवर्त पुराण के अनुसार राधा कृष्ण का बाल विवाह हुआ। कुछ विद्वान मानते हैं कि राधाजी का जन्म यमुना के निकट बसे स्थित रावल ग्राम में हुआ था और बाद में उनके पिता बरसाना में बस गए। इस मान्यता के अनुसार नन्दबाबा एवं वृषभानु का आपस में घनिष्ठ प्रेम था। कंस के द्वारा भेजे गये असुरों के उपद्रवों के कारण जब नन्दराज अपने परिवार, समस्त गोपों एवं गौधन के साथ गोकुल-महावन छोड़ कर नन्दगाँव में निवास करने लगे, तो वृषभानु भी अपने परिवार सहित उनके पीछे-पीछे U गाँव को त्याग कर चले आये और नन्दगाँव के पास बरसाना में आकर निवास करने लगे। लेकिन लोग अधिकतर मानते हैं कि उनका जन्म बरसाना में हुआ था। राधारानी का प्रसिद्ध मंदिर बरसाना ग्राम की पहाड़ी पर स्थित है। बरसाना में राधा जी को 'लाड़लीजी' कहा जाता है।

बरसाना धाम के दो पर्वत:-
कहानी के अनुसार ब्रज में निवास करने के लिये स्वयं ब्रह्मा भी आतुर रहते थे एवं श्रीकृष्ण की बाल लीलाओं का आनन्द लेना चाहते थे। अतः उन्होंने सतयुग के अंत में विष्णु से प्रार्थना की कि आप जब ब्रज मण्डल में अपनी स्वरूपा श्री राधा जी एवं अन्य गोपियों के साथ दिव्य रास-लीलायें करें तो मुझे भी उन लीलाओं का साक्षी बनायें एवं अपनी वर्षा ऋतु की लीलाओं को मेरे शरीर पर संपन्न कर मुझे कृतार्थ करें। ब्रह्मा की इस प्रार्थना को सुनकर भगवान विष्णु ने कहा -"हे ब्रह्मा! आप ब्रज में जाकर वृषभानुपुर में पर्वत रूप धारण कीजिये। पर्वत होने से वह स्थान वर्षा ऋतु में जलादि से सुरक्षित रहेगा, उस पर्वतरूप तुम्हारे शरीर पर मैं ब्रज गोपिकाओं के साथ अनेक लीलाएं करुंगा और तुम उन्हें प्रत्यक्ष देख सकोगे। यहाँ के पर्वतों पर श्री राधा-कृष्ण जी ने अनेक लीलाएँ की हैं। अतएव बरसाना में ब्रह्मा पर्वत रूप में विराजमान हैं। पद्म पुराण के अनुसार यहाँ विष्णु और ब्रह्मा नाम के दो पर्वत आमने सामने विद्यमान हैं। दाहिनी ओर ब्रह्म पर्वत और बायीं विष्णु पर्वत है।

लट्ठमार होली:-
बरसाना गाँव लट्ठमार होली के लिये सबसे ज्यादा प्रसिद्ध है जिसे देखने के लिये हजारों भक्त एकत्र होते हैं। बसंत पंचमी से बरसाना होली के रंग में सरोबार हो जाता है। यहां के घर-घर में होली का उत्सव बड़े धूमधाम से मनाया जाता है।[3] टेसू (पलाश) के फूल तोड़कर और उन्हें सुखा कर रंग और गुलाल तैयार किया जाता है। गोस्वामी समाज के लोग गाते हुए कहते हैं- "नन्दगाँव को पांडे बरसाने आयो रे।" (बरसाना और नंदगाव के बीच 4 मील का फासला है।) शाम को 7 बजे चौपाई निकाली जाती है जो लाड़ली मन्दिर होते हुए सुदामा चौक रंगीली गली होते हुए वापस मन्दिर आ जाती है। सुबह 7 बजे बाहर से आने वाले कीर्तन मंडल कीर्तन करते हुए गहवर वन की परिक्रमा करते हैं। बारहसिंघा की खाल से बनी ढ़ाल को लिए पीली पोखर पहुंचते हैं। बरसानावासी उन्हें रुपये और नारियल भेंट करते हैं, फिर नन्दगाँव के हुरियारे भांग-ठंडाई छानकर मद-मस्त होकर पहुंचते हैं। राधा-कृष्ण की झांकी के सामने समाज गायन करते हैं।

राधारानी मंदिर:-
लाड़ली जी के मंदिर में राधाष्टमी का त्यौहार बड़े धूमधाम से मनाया जाता है। यह त्यौहार भद्रपद माह के शुक्ल पक्ष की अष्टमी को आयोजित किया जाता है। राधाष्टमी के उत्सव में राधाजी के महल को काफी दिन पहले से सजाया जाता है। राधाजी को लड्डूओं का भोग लगाया जाता है और उस भोग को मोर को खिला दिया जाता है जिन्हें राधा कृष्ण का स्वरूप माना जाता है। राधा रानी मंदिर में राधा जी का जन्मदिवस राधा अष्टमी मनाने के अलावा कृष्ण जन्माष्टमी, गोवर्धन-पूजन, गोप अष्टमी और होली जैसे पर्व भी बहुत धूम-धाम से मनाए जाते हैं। इन त्योहारों में मंदिर को मुख्य रूप से सजाया जाता है, प्रतिमाओं का श्रृंगार विशेष रूप से होता है, मंदिर में सजावटी रोशनी की जाती है और सर्वत्र सुगन्धित फूलों से झांकियां बना कर विग्रह का श्रृंगार किया जाता है। राधा को छप्पन भोग भी लगाए जाते हैं। राधाष्टमी अष्टमी से चतुर्दशी तक यहां मेले का आयोजन भी होता है। होली के त्योहार में भी इस मंदिर की विशेष झलक देखने को मिलती है। होली के अवसर पर राधारानी मंदिर से झांकी निकाली जाती है। साथ ही चौपाई भी निकलती है इस सबके साथ-साथ भक्त लोग गाते बजाते हुए होली के गीत गाते हुए चलते हैं। यह चौपाई बरसाना की गलियों से गुजरते हुए रंगों की बौछार करती निकलती है। श्रद्धालुगण मंदिर में भी परस्पर रंग अबीर फेंक कर होली का उत्सव मानाते हैं और कई भक्त मंदिर के सेवादार लोगों पर केसर-जल, इत्र और गुलाबजल की बौछार करते हैं।
